Asset Overview

Octagon shape. Matched pair of lovely porcelain rose jars. (Potpourri jars). So called as they were filled with dried rose petals. They are Hungarian and with gold lion on top. The lions are painted with a rough gold paint. They have their mouths open and one paw up on a bright and smooth gold ball. Ornately painted with red, blue, and dark yellow flowers with green leaves and vines on white with gold trim at top. There are areas at the top and bottom near edges that are painted with the rough gold background. "Fischer / Budapest" is incised on the bottom. This is probably Moritz Fischer who owned Herend Pottery. Letter from Mary Lord Harrison states they were from an Hungarian friend.
