Asset Overview
This shield proved to be a challenge for multiple reasons. First, I had to figure out ways to make parts of the mesh “pop out”. The triangles and and 4-sided polygons turned out to be relatively simple, while the metallic studs was much more difficult to make. I first cut out a hole using the boolean modifier, created faces on the top and bottom of the hole. I then inset the face on the top of the hole and scaled it downwards in order to make the hole more smooth. Unfortunately, while I was pleased with the way the model turned out, the texture was not as crisp as I would have liked it to be. I’ll try to work on my texturing skills on my next project amd use all the techniques I learned this time around moving forward :)
