Virtual Outcrop by Stefano Tavani, DiSTAR, Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Naples, Italy
200 m wide exposure of deep water Early Jurassic radiolarites in the Lurestan region, Zagros. The exposure is characterised by abundant extensional faults, many of which display a syn-sedimentary character. Neogene shortening has caused the development of kink folds and the reactivation of inherited extensional faults, mostly in the form of buttressing.
