Asset Overview

[OM-1975-15](http://collections.smvk.se/carlotta-om/web/object/100926). This cuboid porcelain water dropper stands on four "L" -shaped feet, one in each corner. The object's venting hole is located in the top center and a spout, through which the water could be poured out in small drops, is protruding from the center of one upper edge. The top surface features a landscape scene in underglaze cobalt blue. The sides are decorated with four identical floral or vegetal motifs framed by four brackets in the corners. Each decorative design is surrounded by a blue outline along the edge of each side of the object. The blue underpainting shows heaping and piling rendering the motifs blurred and almost unrecognizable, in particular on the sides of the object. One can hear a small object rattling inside the water dropper when it is picked up. This object's function was probably to help control the water flow. The feet have been wiped free of glaze at the base and show little traces of kiln grit.
