Asset Overview

Mount Ararat is a snow-capped and dormant compound volcanic mountain in the extreme east of Turkey. It consists of two major volcanic cones: Greater Ararat and Little Ararat. Greater Ararat featured here is the highest peak in Turkey and the Armenian Highland with an elevation of 16,853 feet (5,137 meters). According to the biblical account of Genesis 8:4, the ark of Noah rested on the mountains of Ararat, which could be any number of mountains within the Ararat range. A number of sightings have been reported, and locations investigated over the years, but so far nobody has discovered the ark conclusively.
