Orthanc

I chose to recreate Orthanc because the world Tolkien created in his books is something that fascinates me. I thought first of recreating the capital of Gondor, but that wedding cake of a city just seemed WAY too intricate - there's like a million towers in that thing! Not to mention houses, a full castle at the top, and more. So I settled upon the tower that Saruman commanded his forces from. Since that tower also seemed to have a lot going on (though nothing like a full city would!), I looked up the LEGO set of it and recreated it based upon that. So technically, this is a digital monument of the LEGO version of Orthanc. I really enjoyed working on this, and am amazed at the final outcome. Thank you so much for this assignment! It really solidified what we learned in class. I intend to show some of my friends this reconstruction of Orthanc this evening actually as we watch the Hobbit this evening.
