Tomographic map of the Stripe 82 data. Map created with Lyman-alpha spectra from the Extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (eBOSS). 3 isosurfaces in flux contrast (-0.15, -0.3, -0.45) are represented, which correspond to overdensities in the cosmic web.
Luminous spheroids mark the position of the quasars providing the Lyman-alpha forest spectra.
Larger spheres indicate the position and size of candidate protoclusters.
