Asset Overview

ARBIO Peru's forest is located in Las Piedras, Tambopata Province, Madre de Dios, Peru. There are 916 hectares of forest that have been granted in concession for 40 renewable years by the Peruvian State since 2006. The area is classified as Tropical Rainforest. These tropical forests of southern Peru are home to a great biological diversity recognized worldwide. ARBIO is working to maintain the integrity of the forest through the program "Defensores del Bosque" (Forest Defenders), carrying out conservation, control and surveillance activities. As well as studies of the ecosystem through research and awareness activities on the importance of the Amazon forest. Likewise, they work in the conservation of large trees in danger of illegal logging, prioritizing ancient trees such as the Shihuahuaco. In addition, they protect the habitat of key species in the area such as the Harpy Eagle and wildlife species such as the white-lipped peccary and the Tapir, species that are in a state of vulnerability according to t
