The Rathcroghan complex is a large colelction of monuments dating from the Neolithic to Medieval Period located in the heart of Co. Roscommon. The core centre of the complex is an Iron Age site located within a Bronze Age barrow cemetery. Rathcroghan is recorded in the irish annals of the burial place of ancient Kings and is placed at the centre of many legendary Irish stories.
