Reconstruction of enclosed cuneiform tablet based on 3D volume data acquired by CT scanning (DESY). Workflow consists of feature-preserving de-noising, 3D surface extraction, smoothing and segmentation, and pre-calculating ambient-occlusion and curvature-dependent feature-emphazing. Result is exported in PLY format, with color-per-vertex attributes.
Research performed as part of the Cluster of Excellence "Understanding Written Artefacts" at Universität Hamburg, Project RFA09 "Reading Closed Cuneiform Tablets Using High-Resolution Computed Tomography", funded by DFG.
