Seattle Nordic Heritage Museum Frieze

This playful frieze decorates a disused back door at the Nordic Heritage Museum in the Ballard Neighborhood of Seattle. The frieze presumably dates back to the building's previous incarnation as Daniel Webster Elementary School from 1907 to 1979. Since 2009 the Museum has been in the process of raising funds to build a new facility which left the future of this beautiful historic building uncertain. Luckily the building was granted landmark status last year which should preserve it for future generations.
