Asset Overview
This is a garnet-sillimanite gneiss from the Adirondack Mountains, New York. The sillimanite, easily seen in thin section, is difficult to pick out in this model. Gray quartz and two feldspars (white) are present, but the feldspars cannot be distinguished in hand sample. The sample is 7.8 cm in longest dimension.
