Asset Overview
These are Silurian sandstones from the Kilbride Formation of South Mayo, Ireland. The Skolithos are trace fossils that were originally near vertical burrows in near shore marine environments. These rocks are part of a sequence that record a marine transgression during the Silurian in western Ireland.
