This is my blockout scene for the Space Needle located in Seattle. I used a wide range of primitave shapes to roughly represent the city skyline, including rectangular prisms, cylinders, polygon torus, polehydrons, and planes. The result is 7 unique buildings each with different layouts and details to differentiate between each other. The most difficult part of the blockout was figuring out how to simplify complex shapes and structures of the buildings into primitave shapes within Maya. As such, I had to be creative with the different ways to combine shapes together to accurately resemble the buildings.
