Face cut made as normal. Then a bore cut is made from the side to a depth of 2/3 the diameter of the tree and then straight out the back. The felling bar is placed in the bore cut and then a final back cut is made on an anlge beneath the bore cut. For backwards leaning trees between 200 and 380mm in diameter.
