Proximity sensor – uses Infrared detects presence of hands
Timer sensor – programmed to instructs the solenoid valve to stop/start the water flow
LED Display – displays a 30 seconds countdown
When the proximity sensor detects hand movement, it signals to start the water flow. This is to avoid any human contact with the tap. Thereby, the countdown of 30 seconds will be exhibited on the LED display so that users can keep a track of the time.
Now, the Timer sensor controls the whole 30-seconds cycle. Timer sensor is programmed to controls the opening and closing of valve which in turns control the flow of water.
It includes the initial 5 seconds, when the water flows and the users will soak their hands.
For the next 15 seconds, the water flow stops, this interval is for users to handwash/soap and lather the handwash/soap thoroughly.
For the final 10 seconds, the water starts flowing again. This is for the users to rinse their hands and get rid of the handwash applied.
