Asset Overview

The green clumps of material in this specimen are xenoliths -- a sample of Earth's mantle carried up by rising magma that produced the dark colored basalt. The xenolith material consists of three different minerals -- maybe four: olivine, chrome diopside, orthopyroxene, and (maybe) spinel.
