Terrestrial LiDAR scan of a *Quercus castaneifolia* (chestnut-leaved oak) which is located in Kew Gardens, London. Using the TLS allowed us to accurately estimate the height as 36.48 m, previous estiamtes were ~35 m.
The tree was scanned using a RIEGL VZ400 with top-mounted RGB camera by Phil Wilkes ([@kungphil](https://twitter.com/kungphil)) and Mathias Disney ([@mathiasdisney](https://twitter.com/mathiasdisney)) from UCL Geogrpahy ([@UCLgeogrphy](https://twitter.com/UCLgeography)) and NCEO ([@NCEOscience](https://twitter.com/NCEOscience)). Also used some code from Matheus Boni Vicari ([@BoniVicari](https://twitter.com/BoniVicari)) to correct colours.
Original point cloud had 39M+ points but has been downsampled for SketchFab.
