Asset Overview
Flattened pumices in a welded ignimbrite (Lazaras Ignimbrite). The pumice clasts are softer than the surrounding matrix and thus weather first, leaving behind elliptical holes. The yellowish color of the rock is due to the alteration mineral jarosite. The outcrop is about 2 m tall. Cinto mine, Rodalquilar, Cabo de Gata Natural Park, Spain.
