Asset Overview

Complete sequence beach-lagoon-washover fans. The beach facies in this model belongs to the beach zone s.s., near the water (it has parallel laminations and bioturbations), whereas outside the model area there are emerged (to the west) and submerged (to the east) paleodune fields. All layers are inclined to the east and indicate progradation of the system eastward, while the basin was being filled in. The cliff is about 18 m tall; W is to the left and E to the right in default view. Sorbas sedimentary basin, at W end of Sorbas village, along N-340a, in the bed of the *Rambla de la Mojonera*, Almeria region, southern Spain. *Reference for description: Braga et al., Geology of the Arid Zone of Almeria, South East Spain - An Educational Field Guide, January 2007 Edition: Fundación GypaetusPublisher: State Water Company for the Southern Basin SA (ACUSUR)Editor: Regional Ministry of Environment - Junta def Andalusia, ISBN: 978-84-935194-7-6*
