This tree stump was made using photogrammetry. I first got a few passes around this stump using as DSLR camera and got another pass using my phone to make sure I captured the awkward angles since the stump was on a hill. Last pass I took a video with my phone to get the fine details. The pictures were then put into Reality Capture and aligned to get a high poly model. Then in Maya I took the high poly model and retopologized it and after that went to XNormals to get the vertex colors. After that in Substance Painter I used the high poly model to bake out the height, curvature, ambient occlusion, and normal map onto the low poly. After that I modified the roughness on the model to make it look as close as possible to the real life stump.
