Camera: Nikon 3100.
Model created in Agisoft Metashape.
---
This was an experiment to see if a complete model of an object could be made outside of a studio setting, with only ambient light and materials I had on hand.
---
The stone was places on a circular piece of paper marked with different symbols to simplify camera alignment. This was set on a table in the shade as to avoid harsh contrasts between light and shadow. The different angels were cought by walking around the table, not by moving the setup.
---
Photos were taken with the stone in three positions as to catch all sides, these were then processed in separate chunks. Redundant points were then removed before aligning and merging.
---
I think the model itself came out very good, but the lighting conditions and whitebalance settings on my camera made the texture a bit wonky colour-wise. In total 47 photos were used for this model.
