Asset Overview

Sample of scoria clasts (red-brown) and a monzonite xenolith (light grey) fused in glassy basalt (shiney black), from the Reykanes Peninsula, SW Iceland. The scoria and monzonite clasts probably ejected from a nearby scoria cone and landed on the still hot and ductile basalt lava.
