Package Overview
Carya ovata, commonly known as the Shagbark Hickory , derives its name from its light gray peeling bark. This tree is well loved for its edible nut yield and its picturesque Autumn foliage. Its branches form an oval outline and generally grows to between 60 and 80 ft though, in rare instances, it can grow beyond 100 ft. Once established, its deep taproot makes it hard to transplant.
