Asset Overview

Siliciclastic turbidites of the Tabernas Neogene basin (Almeria region, Spain), unconformably overlain by recent sediments. This outcrop (about 20 m NNE-SSW exposure) is part of the "Gordo megabed" (exposed along a 150 m stretch of the road at this location) , which displays convoluted bedding throughout and a megabreccia zone, suggesting this entire bed is a seismite. The zone of highest deformation in the megabed is located southwest of the outcrop in this model. Exposure located along A-340a. Lat 36°58'56.14"N, Lon 2°27'50.00"W, elevation 200 m.
