Asset Overview
"Protoreaster nodosus, commonly known as the horned sea star or chocolate chip sea star, is a species of sea star found in the warm, shallow waters of the Indo-Pacific region. They are sometimes seen in the marine aquarium trade." - Wikipedia
This starfish was located in the coral garden known as Siete Pecados off the coast of Coron, Philippines. The pictures (30) were taken with a GoPro Hero 3+ with 12 megapixel/wide settings. The pictures were not corrected for their barrel/fisheye distortion.
The sparse/dense clouds were created using VisualSFM, and imported into Meshlab where the dense cloud was cleaned and a Poisson mesh was generated, followed by texture mapping.
