Asset Overview

Hand sample of the Stockdale Kimberlite in Kansas donated by Dr. Matt Brueseke (Kansas State University). WVU petrology collection. The white clasts are probably serpentine replacing olivine. The largest white clasts were probably dunite or peridotite xenoliths before their olivine was replaced. The dull green groundmass is altered kimberlite. Prepared and uploaded by Trevor Byers, finished by Graham Andrews.
