Asset Overview
Left-lateral strike-slip fault, with a minor reverse component, in the carbonatic unit of the Sierra Alhamilla basement, near the town of Sierra Alhamilla, west of Almeria, Spain. The fault plane displays both meter-scale undulations, and striations parallel to fault motion direction. The sense of motion is given by the fault roughness due to steps and other irregularities on the fault plane. Some patches of fault breccia are still attached to the fault plane. The outcrop is about 6 m tall. Lat 36°57'32.22"N, Lon 2°24'10.84"W, elevation 455 m.
