Asset Overview

A cool, twisted rod of amphibolite-plagioclase gneiss (amphibolite facies metamorphism) from the Eocene Vaseaux Gneisses of the Shuswap metamorphic core complex in the Okanagan Valley shear zone, southern British Columbia. The amphibolite has begun to experience greenschist facies retrograde metamorphism, shown by the development of silver muscovite replacing amphibole.
