Asset Overview

REXCOR is an ecological restoration project that consists of immersing 36 innovative artificial reefs in the degraded shallow seabed of the Cortiou Calanque. This area having suffered the effects of the outfall of the Marseille sewage treatment plant, it is a question of proposing a viable solution to favor the return of the marine life in this sector. The increase in biodiversity and biomass are evaluated by several methods (photographs, visual counts, samples ...) including photogrammetry. This tool has many interests, particularly in terms of time tracking. Underwater photogrammetry carried out as part of a collaboration between Septentrion Environnement and LIS (Laboratory of Computer Science and Systems) Aix-Marseille University, UMR CNRS 7020. Contact : Olivier Bianchimani, Septentrion Environnement and Pierre Drap, LIS, CNRS.
