Asset Overview

Holoxica created the first 3D digital hologram of a healthy brain. It was made from an MRI scan using Fibre Tractography - a technique to track nerve fibre pathways inside the brain using Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) that measures the movement of water molecules in the brain’s white matter. The 3D image reveals the complex wiring of the brain, leading to advances in how neurological conditions are diagnosed and handled. The 3D holographic image shows brain fibre tracks in vibrant colours that represent the orientation and direction of the fibres. The bright colours and the fact that it is densely packed not only makes it an effective and condensed way to visualise fibre direction but also makes it memorable as a display or as a visual teaching tool.
