Asset Overview

This is a human heart that was donated for research. This 3D reconstruction of the cardiac tissue shows the whole heart from a 62 year old male with a history of CAD, hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia. The calcification due to CAD is highlighted in this model. As shown, there is a large amount of calcification in the left anterior descending (LAD) artery and the right coronary artery (RCA). Also, there are smaller deposits in the circumflex artery. We partner with [LifeSource](https://www.life-source.org/) to receive donated organs deemed not viable for transplant and the [University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program](https://med.umn.edu/research/anatomy-bequest-program) to work with organs that were donated for Medical Education and Research.
