Left Atrial Appendage Aneurysm

This model is created from clinical diagnostic CT imaging of a pediatric patient exhibiting a very large left atrial appendage aneurysm (LAAA). The treatment for this patient was surgical dissection of the aneurysm. A pre-procedural model was created (shown) to aid in forming this surgical plan. The model represents a 1mm-thick shell around the cardiac blood volume. A window was cut into the model in order to visualize the communication between the LAAA and the left atrium.
