Asset Overview

This virtual reality experience aims to create a visual representation of the campus CO2 emissions by University of Michigan buildings. These emissions have been roughly calculated based on the electricity use of each building and the electricity generation methods of DTE. Colored bubbles floating above each building on campus show the relative amount of emissions coming from each location & the user of the simulation can move across campus to examine buildings. Color Key (units / yr) * Grey: 0 – 100k kWh; 0 – 91 metric tons; 0 – 19 cars * Blue: 100k – 500k kWh; 91 – 454 metric tons; 19 – 97cars * Green: 500k – 1,000k kWh; 454 – 907 metric tons; 97 – 193 cars * Yellow: 1,000k – 5,000k kWh; 907 – 4,536 metric tons; 193 - 965 cars * Orange: 5,000k – 10,000k kWh; 4,536 – 9,072 metric tons; 965 – 1,930 cars * Red: 10,000k – 100,000k kWh; 9,072 – 90,719 metric tons; 1,930 – 19,302 cars * Black: > 100,000k kWh; > 90,719 metric tons; > 19,302 cars Made for Energy+ Competition by Allie Frost & Michelle Farhat
