Cassiopeia A - Split Model - bottom half

About 400 years ago, in our own Milky Way galaxy, a star that was about 15 to 20 times the mass of our Sun detonated in a supernova explosion. Thanks to data collected and processed using the Chandra X-ray Telescope, we can now see the remnants from that explosion, Cassiopeia A, in 3 dimensions. Here is a cross-sectional 3D-printable model, showing the shape of the explosion as we see it today and revealing the interior neutron star left behind by the explosion. This model shows one half of a 2-part model, which we will call “bottom half”. Note: after printing both halves of this model, small magnets can be glued into slots to attach models together for display purposes.
