Deep-sea ROV Doc Ricketts.
Doc Ricketts is a 4000m rated electro-hydraulic vehicle, specializing in scientific research. Ricketts was custom designed by an England based ROV company, "Soil Machine Dynamics." MBARI took delivery of Doc Ricketts in 2008. Since then, multiple upgrades have ensured it could perform nearly any task our scientists have demanded in its 1100+ dives.
This 3D model was derived from Solidworks engineering drawings, but was textured and animated by Craig Mink from the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
