Distribution of elements in the ejecta of an aspherical core-collapse supernova (CCSN) explosion. The model illustrates in 3D isosurfaces of the mass fractions of elements, 56Ni (red), 28Si (green), 16O (blue), and 4He (light blue), just before the shock breakout (~ 87,000 sec after the explosion) in a 3D view. Isosurfaces of the 10 % (lighter color) and 70 % (darker color) of the maximum value for each element are shown. To see the inner structure, part of the regions are clipped. This model was obtained in the framwork of a more extended study presented in the paper: "Matter Mixing in Aspherical Core-collapse Supernovae: Three-dimensional Simulations with Single Star and Binary Merger Progenitor Models for SN 1987A", Masaomi Ono, Shigehiro Nagataki, Gilles Ferrand, Koh Takahashi, Hideyuki Umeda, Takashi Yoshida, Salvatore Orlando, and Marco Miceli, The Astrophysical Journal, 888 (2020) id. 111. The model corresponds to the bottom left panel of Figure 10 (the model name is s18.0-fid).
