Asset Overview

This is a perfusion fixed human heart that was donated for research. The donor was a 51 year old female with a history of hypothyroidism and asthma. This model has a well preserved aortic arch, showcasing the left and right subclavian arteries (the first and third branches as you follow the flow of blood) and the right common carotid artery (in the middle). The Right and Left atria are not well preserved, although the atrial septum can be seen from the Right Atrium as well as a bit of the tricuspid valve. This model uses reference ID: Heart0235. We partner with [LifeSource](https://www.life-source.org/) to receive donated organs deemed not viable for transplant.
