A depiction of the four primary locations of heart murmurs:
1) Aortic area
2) Pulmonic area
3) Tricuspid area
4) Mitral area
Aortic area is associated with: aortic stenosis, aortic valve sclerosis, and flow murmur
Pulmonic area is associated with: pulmonic stenosis and atrial septal defect
Tricuspid area is associated with: tricuspid regurgitation and ventricular septal defect, as well as tricuspid stenosis
Mitral area is associated with: mitral regurgitation and mitral valve prolapse, along with mitral stenosis
