Asset Overview

Saquinavir is a drug created to inhibit HIV-1 Protease from cutting the polypeptide chains produced by HIV mRNA. It does this by binding to the active site of the HIV-1 Protease which prevents the polypeptide chains from binding to the active site. Prevention of the polypeptide chains result in HIV proteins being inactive thus helps control HIV.
