HKP (Hyperdrive Kinetic Penetrator)

The Hyperdrive Kinetic Penetrator, or HKP, is a weapon based on Hyperdrive technology from the Star Wars franchise. It uses a low-end Hyperdrive to accelerate the torpedo beyond lightspeed, directly towards a target. There is no countermeasure for this missile, aside from destruction prior to Hyperdrive initiation, or using an Interdictor. It is deployed like any other torpedo, aiming towards a pre-designated enemy upon launch, and using its standard propulsion to get clear of the launch-platform, after which it activates the Hyperdrive, annihilating anything in its path. It can be equipped with a solid-fuel rocket booster to allow it to function from the surface of a planet. If a HKP misses, it will continue on its trajectory for a short duration, after which it de-activates the Hyperdrive regulators, causing the torpedo to harmlessly implode, preventing collatoral damage.
