Asset Overview

The Kongo-class battlecruisers were built for the Imperial Japense Navy for the first world war, but only saw extensive action in the second world war after several modernizations. Four ships were built in total: Kongo in Britain, Hiei, Kirishima and Haruna in Japan. They underwent several modernizations over the years, this is the state of 1943. All of the four units got sunk in the war either in the battle of Guadacanal or by Aircraft and submarines. This model was made by me with the help of the original recognition manual from the US Navy and features only the most important pieces of detail. I made this model for myself to produce a small fleet, and printed this model with my Resin Printer Elegoo Mars in 1/4000 with nearly no loss of detail. This is by no means a good model, but it is enough to be recognizable at such a small scale. The superstructructure needs rework, I will do that on a later date.
