The KS-23 (Карабин Специальный 23мм) is a Soviet shotgun chambered in a specialized 23x75mmR shell, roughly equivalent to a 4 gauge shotgun shell. Technically, it is classified as a rifled carbine as it reuses rejected rifled 23mm anti-aircraft barrels. The KS-23 is typically used to fire less-lethal cartridges including flashbang rounds and tear gas payloads, though it does have its shair of both buckshot loadings and high-powered slugs.
