Naval Target Drone Wreckage

This aerial target drone wreckage was filmed in the Santa Cruz Basin off the Channel Islands in Southern California. This wreckage was very likely shot down during US Naval training exercises. MBARI's "Doc Ricketts" ROV was in the area documenting the kinds of debris that are found in these offshore military training grounds. In addition to target drones, we found cannon shells, old missiles, and even an entire field of "9 lives" cat food can's, which likely spilled from a cargo container during a storm.
