Asset Overview

This is a perfusion fixed human heart that was donated for research. The donor was a 57 year old female with a history of hypertension, hypothyroidism, and elevated cholesterol levels. The heart was suspended from clips and partially filled with foam to facilitate scanning. This heart has a dissected Right Atrium which allows a view of the tricuspid valve and a slight atrial septal defect, as indicated by the white spot in the septum. We partner with [LifeSource](https://www.life-source.org/) to receive donated organs deemed not viable for transplant.
