This is a very small part of a very big tree at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in Felton, California. This particular tree is over 17 feet (5 meters) wide and 270 feet (83 meters) tall. It is called "The Giant". Redwoods are the tallest species of tree in the world, and some of the trees in the park are nearly 2000 years old. My mind is blown every time I visit.
This was shot with my iPhone in 28 photos. The lighting was not ideal, but I'm not sure that it gets any better in the forest. :-)
