The Enterprise chasing the Reliant ship inside the Mutara Nebula.
Movie: "Star Trek II. The Wrath of Khan".
Sound track by Johm Horner.
Nebulae or gas clouds are the birth places of stars like our Sun. The gas starts to collapse under gravitational force or because of nearby supernovae explosions and forms the core of the protostars. The protostars continue to accrete circumstellar material from the parent cloud until this is available. At the same time the star ignites and develops a wind that clears the region around the star. The two mechanisms balance at some point and accretion stops. At the same time the gas and dust around the star has formed a disk that gives birth to planets line our solar system. The whole process lasts for 5-10 millions of years depending on the mass of the star and the available gas.
