Steampunk Nerf Gun

For my most recent assignment we were asked to model and texture a Nerf gun. I found this one online and felt it would be a good challenge. I modeled it in Maya(student version). The poly count is a little on the higher side for a game asset… I tried baking a high poly mesh to my low poly mesh but I wasn’t too thrilled with the finished product. It was probably good enough for a game but I like to inspect assets and wanted a bit more detail than I was getting with the bake, so I added some objects from my high poly mesh to my low poly one to get the detail I was going for. I decided to go for a steampunk feel because… well Why Not? Textured in Substance Painter (also a student version).
