in 2017 astronomers discovered 7 planets orbiting around the cold dwarf star Trappist-1. The planets are all similar to Earth in sizes and masses. They orbit very close to their star with periods from 1.5 to 18 days. The star is cooler than our Sun and some of these planets could have liquid water and atmospheres to host the life like on Earth.
This model gives a scaled representation of the star, its planets and their distances.
