This is a plastinated whole human heart that was donated for research. The donor was a 43 year old male with a history of hypertension and hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol). The plastinate has a fully-dilated right atrium to showcase the relative positioning of the Superior vena cava, inferior cava, and right atrial appendage (auricle).
